I graduated from the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam in 1984 (jazz with Willen van Manen), before that I studied classical trombone for 4 years at the Brabants Conservatory with Charles Toet and Henri Aarts.
During my last year in Amsterdam I started playing with the Willem Breuker Kollektief and after 3e years I started my own bands and also played in various bands, such as the Contraband of Willem van Manen, De Rockets of J.C. Tans, Dick de Graaf and a few other groups. After leaving Breuker I continued to work for him as an arranger until his death 5 years ago. I also still work as a copyist for Donemus and Boosey & Hawkes (I work exclusively for Louis Andriessen, Maritjn Padding, Willem Jeths, among others).
